Part Six

Upon closer scrutiny he now realised

The fearless, intrepid adventurer,

He has not seen for years,

Was now laying dead,

A night before the river water was blessed,

At the hand of a toddler,

Who has now become a methodical killer.

  Following the fateful event,

Under a flickering cosmic star lights,

That very same night,

The suspected four years old child,

 Was taken to prison.

Although the motive for doing so

Was not for sure clearly known,

Some felt it was to prevent

From imminent danger of reprisals

The followers of the dead man might avenge.

Others thought, it was what it ought to be,

As a criminal he should have to go,

And face the due - a proper punishment.

However, the following day the provincial governor

Came down in person,

Set free the child from the prison,

And immediately made the necessary provision,

So as out to a foreign land the toddler be flown.

  Later on, the toddler,

Now his father in pension,

Came back to his birth town,

After so many years of absence in between,

. Upon greeting his father

Now the ultimate question came to his mouth.

All these time he had been asking himself

But without any success.

  ‘Why?’ – ‘But why?’

‘Why what? - My learned friend’

The old man jokingly replied.

‘Well, why did the man wanted to see you died’

  ‘Praise the Lord!

Now you have asked I am glad

At the right time to your home you have also come back

And this time round I too am jolly good prepared to talk.’

‘It all started in the past.

Five years before you were conceived to be exact.

The man you killed

Came to my court,

Wrists backward twisted and manacled,

Ankles with heavy chains shackled.

Accused and criminally charged,

Of cold blooded murder,

Perpetrated against the district governor.
