She Wlaked Away Free

Almost six feet in height

Ramrod straight,

An epicentre - the panoply picot-like rays

Draw their penetrating heat,

In otherwise a day with glum sunlight.

Paragon, beauty par excellence

Riotous ginger hair for a cover,

Beware: she has been lately let loose

And the whole world is in danger.

Unaware, I as saunter in the streets,

Gullible that I am, when I least expected

She stole my heart,

And as mishaps unfold,

She walked away from the spot

Leaving me frozen cold.

Finally, when caught and brought to court

To mete out the punishment

For the heinous crime she committed

Bizarre it may sound,

I occluded the course of justice

By declining to attest

To the crime committed

And the damage she has caused.

Knowing who she is fully well,

But I just could not bring myself

To see her suffer

With common criminals

Locked in a prison cell.

Thus the heart predatory,

I assisted her walk out Scot-free.

Beware: if in case by any chance

She comes on your way,

Don’t be fool! Run away.

Beware of me too,

I am left heartless,

And my mind has become unscrupulous,

If I come across your way

Clear off, reverse your sway.

Otherwise, I may pose a real threat,

For I know no right or wrong

Or what you call moral upright.
